Sonpari—also spelled Sonpari or Son Pari—is a premium Indian mango variety, a hybrid developed in Gujarat in 2000, officially named Gujarat Mango Hybrid‑1 (GMH‑1) It results from crossing the sought-after Alphonso (female parent) and Baneshan/Banganpalli (male)

• Appearance & Size: Large, oval fruits weighing between 360–550 g (sometimes up to 750 g), ripening to a radiant golden‑yellow with small brown lenticels and occasionally a light pink blush.

• Flesh Quality: Firm, fibre‑free, deep saffron in colour, offering an aromatic profile with a rich, sweet‑tangy flavour comparable yet distinct to Alphonso. Total soluble solids test above ~19.5%, suggesting sweetness in the 24 Brix range.

• Tree Character & Yield: Vigorous, spreading canopy with regular, heavy fruiting—up to four times yield more than Alphonso. Trees mature mid‑season, fruiting around mid‑June, and are resistant to spongy tissue, pests, diseases, and adverse weather.

• Shelf Life: Excellent keeping quality, remaining fresh for over 10–14 days at ambient conditions, making it ideal for both local markets and export.
